Ali EL Kharbotly is a highly accomplished agricultural research and biotechnology consultant with decades of international experience spanning Europe, the Middle East, and North Africa. His professional journey reflects a strong balance between advanced scientific research and applied agricultural innovation.
Currently based in the Netherlands, he operates as an independent consultant focused on developing, researching, and delivering training on sustainable and cost-efficient natural farming practices. Previously, he served for over eight years with the Department of Agricultural Research under the Ministry of Municipality and Environment in Qatar, where he played a key role in agricultural research strategy, biotechnology applications, and national capacity building.
His career foundation includes senior advisory roles in agribusiness, extensive consultancy in plant breeding and biotechnology, and long-term service as a biotechnology expert with the Ministry of Agriculture in Oman. In parallel, he has contributed significantly to academia as a lecturer and junior scientist at leading institutions including Wageningen University, Sultan Qaboos University, and Ain Shams University.
