Dr. Humera Amin
Dr. Humera Amin is a highly respected academician and researcher, currently serving as an Assistant Professor in the Department of Agricultural Extension at University of Sargodha. Holding a Ph.D. in Agricultural Extension and Education, she brings over two decades of extensive experience in teaching, research, and agricultural development.
Her interdisciplinary expertise spans Agricultural Extension, Sociology, and Criminology, enabling her to approach rural development challenges with a holistic and impactful perspective. Her core areas of specialization include extension methodologies, climate-smart agriculture, gender and development, and sustainable livelihoods.
Dr. Amin is widely recognized for her work in gender mainstreaming in agriculture, focusing on enhancing women’s participation, decision-making power, and access to agricultural resources. Her efforts align strongly with global priorities of gender equality and inclusive rural development.
She has led numerous training and capacity-building programs aimed at empowering rural women through agricultural best practices, income-generating activities, and efficient time management. These initiatives have enabled hundreds of women to establish home-based agribusinesses, improving both household income and food security.
Her research portfolio includes active contributions to national and international projects funded by organizations such as Higher Education Commission Pakistan and the Australian Government. These projects focus on livestock development, farmer education, and participatory water resource management, often incorporating gender-responsive approaches for inclusive impact.
Dr. Amin has also contributed to strategic initiatives like Climate Smart Agriculture Investment Plans and Land Information and Management Systems (LIMS), supporting data-driven agricultural transformation in Pakistan.
