Dr. Hassan Munir Bajwa is a seasoned agricultural scientist, academician, and development professional with more than two decades of progressive experience spanning teaching, applied research, consultancy, and strategic program leadership. Currently affiliated with the University of Agriculture Faisalabad, his work consistently aligns science with scalable, field-ready solutions to enhance agricultural productivity and food security.

His technical expertise covers the improvement of major staple and vegetable crops—including sugarcane, tomato, onion, peas, and cucumber—as well as forage systems. Dr. Hassan has been at the forefront of introducing and adapting emerging and non-traditional crops such as quinoa, safflower, amaranth, buckwheat, sisal, and sunflower, positioning them as viable options for diversified and climate-smart agriculture. His portfolio also includes high-value forage crops like Rhodes grass, ryegrass, super alfalfa, and maize.

A forward-looking innovator, Dr. Hassan actively drives modern production systems integrating IoT, remote sensing, precision irrigation, and advanced nutrient management. His work spans intercropping models, controlled-environment agriculture, hydroponics, aeroponics, vertical farming, and sustainable crop–vegetable nutrition strategies, particularly under drought, salinity, and climate-stressed environments.

He has successfully led multidisciplinary teams in complex landscapes—including deserts, saline soils, and riverine ecosystems—delivering measurable productivity gains through evidence-based decision-making and operational excellence. His global exposure includes professional engagements across 12 countries and consultancy services as an International Consultant with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) on Central Asian projects. He also contributes to knowledge leadership through reviewing and editing books, monographs, and scientific publications.

Currently, Dr. Hassan serves as a Lead Manager in a multinational not-for-profit organization, spearheading resource mobilization and agri-based urban and rural interventions focused on food security, climate resilience, and disaster response. Anchored by a strong belief in “humanity first,” he remains deeply committed to uplifting rural communities through innovation, outreach, and sustainable development. Outside his professional sphere, he maintains an active lifestyle with a passion for swimming and horse riding.
